New Mexico State 4-H Pig School

When: June 23-26, 2009

Where: New Mexico State Fairgrounds; Albuquerque, New Mexico

Must be currently enrolled as a 4-H or FFA member, agent, AG teacher, leader, or parent to attend.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: June 1, 2009

REGISTRATION FEE: $185.00

Pig School is a valuable experience for youth, parents, leaders, and agents of all skill levels. There are three days of very intense instruction with as much hands-on learning as possible. Each participant should bring at least one pig, but may bring two. In order to keep the groups small, the number of applications is limited to the first 75 on a "first come, first served" basis.

Attendees must be in compliance with the 2009 New Mexico Livestock Board Guidelines for Livestock Exhibitors.

  • Nutrition
  • Grooming
  • Showmanship and sportsmanship
  • Ethics
  • Preparing for a fair
  • Care during a fair
  • Exercise
