Senior Leadership Retreat

Senior Leadership Retreat is an annual youth leadership event that takes place every January. This event is a fun packed weekend at the Marriott Hotel in Albuquerque. This year's theme is "Uphold the Magic of 4-H"

During the event youth have the opportunity to attend workshops on personal development, team work, leadership, conquering fears, motivation, personalities and much more. In the evening the delegates will be challenged to show how they have mastered their dance skills. 2014 Senior Leadership Retreat is going to be held January 25-26 at the Marriott in Albuquerque. We look forward to seeing you there! Further information on the activites will be posted when available.

Registration is online using the 4HOnline Registration system. Members who are attending will need to be entered into the county registration system before registering for this event. Instructions for how to register can be found in the online system when you log in. Youth Get-Away

YGA Theme

Youth Get-Away is an event for Novice and Junior members held at Inlow Baptist Camp located west of Torreon, NM. Youth will have the opportunity during the weekend to enjoy workshops on various projects, leadership and teamwork. Youth also participate in sessions, hands-on activities, and attend dances. Senior members have an opportunity to attend this event by serving as camp counselors or a CIT (Counselor In Training). 2014 Youth Get-Away will be April 25 - 27. Registration information, counselor applications and deadline information can be picked up at you County Extension Office. The event is hosted by the State 4-H Officer Team.

State 4-H Shooting Sports

The goal of the 4-H Shooting Sports Program is youth development. Through participation in firearm safety training and shooting sports activities, young men and women are given the opportunity to learn responsibility, sportsmanship, self-discipline, and other qualities critical to the development of productive citizens.

4-H Shooting Sports is a national program with over 300,000 young people taking part, thus making it one of the largest shooting education programs in the United States. New Mexico 4-H Shooting Sports involves of kids and continues to grow annually. More information...

NM State 4-H Dog School

The New Mexico State 4-H Dog School was designed to help youth and leaders become familiar with the 4- H Dog Project, the different events youth may participate in with their dogs and to promote Responsible Dog Ownership. State 4-H Dog School is two and a half days of workshops and presentations to help develop leadership, selfreliance, sportsmanship, a greater understanding of their dog and citizenship responsibilities by working together to support community dog projects and activities. 4-H members between the ages of 9-19 may attend Dog School, along with leaders, agents and parents. Dogs do not have to be full breeds to participate in 4-H Dog School, but for the safety of the dog and youth, must be older than 6 months, have all vaccinations, not in season or aggressive.

NM 4-H Adult Forum

The annual New Mexico 4-H Adult Forum is held in Albuquerque on a Saturday in November. The Forum provides an opportunity for adults involved with the 4-H Youth Development Program to participate in workshops, a community service project, special activities, educational displays and network with other adults who share their interest in 4-H. It is planned and designed by adult 4-H Leaders for adult 4-H Leaders, 4-H parents and 4-H Extension personnel. All participants learn and have fun together in a one-day education program that addresses a variety of topics. More information...

State 4-H Photography Contest

Contest is open to any 4-H member, ages 9-19. Entrants do not have to be enrolled in the Photography project to enter. Entry deadline: Must be in the State Office on or before August 1, 2014.

Photos will be used to promote New Mexico 4-H. An exhibit will be on display at the New Mexico State Fair.

Film and digital photos are accepted.

You may either print out the blank forms and complete by hand, or click into the form just above each line and type the information into each space. If you type into the forms, print 2 copies. Mail one form to the State 4-H Office and save the other for your records:
