I created a web quest called "Math During Summer Vacation". The web quest involved introducing my math classes to four different online math sites. I wrote my own html text using a reference I acquired from the internet. The web quest included a color background, graphics, colored links to the four math sites and questions and/or activities for my students to complete.
The activity was a fun way to "practice" using Netscape and also use their problem solving skills by answering math questions and/or completing math activities.
Creating a web quest is easier than it looks. I just started to play around with it. Through trial and error, I taught myself the basics! There is also a good selection of editors to help you if you aren't interested in writing your own html. I am now learning more advanced concepts and I plan to present a model for an online magazine to my school! I have really enjoyed the experience.
