In Quest of the Native New Mexican Americans

Welcome to year 2050. Your quest for today is to go back to the late twentieth century to help the United States government locate New Mexico native american tribes. They will be awarded two million dollars per group if the evidence proves that they lived in New Mexico during this time period.

The Task

Your team has been hired to represent the Native americans in New Mexico. You will need the following documentation in order for these groups to qualify for the government award.

• How many tribe/pueblos are there in New Mexico?
• List the tribes/pueblos.
• Locate these tribes/pueblos on the New Mexico map provided.
• Select two groups and write about the following: Life style, Creation stories, Architecture, Religion, Language, Acreage of land owned.
• Choose your favorite tribe/pueblo. Then include the following: Write three facts about your favorite group; Write two interesting aspects you liked about them; Draw one picture representing that group.
• Challenge activity: Create a six card hyperstudio stack presentation to the United States government.
