Hello, my name is Leticia Varelas and I'm currently a sophomore. College is one of the most important decisions anyone could make in their life. Luckily, it was an easy choice for me to make. I grew up on a ranch in Southeastern New Mexico, where agriculture has been a big part of my life since I was little. So I knew that a degree in Agricultural Economics and Business was right for me, and what better place than NMSU to pursue that degree?
My experiences here at NMSU have been better than I could have ever imagined. Here at the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences there are endless opportunities to take advantage of. Everyday I learn something new about life, the agricultural community, and my future. I encourage every student to become involved in something other than just work and classes. The organizations I have become involved in have not only helped me become more proficient in my career field, but have helped me strengthen my old friendships while making new ones. There are great things in store for the future, all you have to do is take action to take advantage of those opportunities
