Kringle the Cat Memorial Scholarship in Agricultural Education

The AXED Kringle the Cat scholarship will be made available to four students in the amount of $500 in the following departments: Department of Agricultural Economics and Business, Department of Plant and Environmental Sciences, Department of Agricultural and Extension Education, and Department of Animal and Range Science. Each of these scholarships would be made available to any student majoring in these departments with an overall GPA of 2.8 or higher, or a promising freshman. Financial need should be a major factor in the selection process.

Jacob and Lina Tejada Memorial AXED Endowed Scholarship

Preference is given to students who are completing their Directed Extension, Teaching, Field, or Clinical experiences. Financial need is a consideration but the recipient does not need to qualify for federal financial aid.

The Alfred E. Triviz Memorial Scholarship was established in 1987 by Mary M. Triviz to provide scholarships for New Mexico State University students enrolled in the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences, Department of Agricultural and Extension Education.

Dell and Ray Chappell Memorial Scholarship

The Dell P. and Ray Doyle Chappell Memorial Scholarship was established by Mr. and Mrs. John Chappell and Mr. and Mrs. Don Chappell in 1985 to provide scholarships for New Mexico State University students registered in Agriculture and Extension Education.

Must have an emphasis in Agricultural Communications OR an interest in Agricultural Communications and/or Journalism as evidence by membership in Agricultural Communications of Tomorrow (ACT). Highest preference to students from Luna, Grant, Hidalgo, or Catron counties.

The Dr. Leon Wagley Scholarship was established in 1991 to provide scholarships for New Mexico State University students registered in the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences with a major in Agricultural and Extension Education.

The Fred and Genevieve Widmoyer Scholarship/Loan Memorial Fund was established in 1992 to make an annual award to one or more students enrolled in Vocational Horticulture and Instruction at the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences. The award may be in the form of a scholarship or a loan.

Thomas and Patrick Dormody Leadership Scholarship

The Thomas and Patrick Dormody Leadership Scholarship was established in 2004 to make an annual award to one or more students. Recipients of this award must be a sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student majoring in Agricultural and Extension Education, and have a record of outstanding leadership and/or service at the department, college, and/or university level(s).

John Lewis Greenwald Sr. Scholarship Endowment

The John Lewis Greenwald, Sr. Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 1991 to make an annual award to one or more students enrolled at New Mexico State University pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree that leads to certification in Agricultural Education.

Eugene and Mary Nell Ross Scholarship

The Eugene and Mary Nell Ross Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 2001 to support graduate students in the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences in the Department of Agricultural and Extension Education. One annual award recipient is selected upon the criteria that they are a full-time graduate student who demonstrates academic ability and commitment to complete his/her graduate study and is not supported by an assistantship, fellowship, or half-time or greater employment at NMSU.
