The Horticulture Forum Club is a non-profit organization, and chartered club of NMSU. Our club welcomes all students from all departments on the NMSU campus. Our mission is to help the student body become familiar with horticulture and floriculture procedures on all levels including turf, xeric, and ornamental landscape plants.
Chartered with NMSU since 1971...we are a club designed to encourage Horticulture students or any individuals with interest in caring for plants to come together and share ideas, theories, experiences as well as plan events to share our combined knowledge with the community. As a group we grow flowers, succulents, and flowering plants for indoor and outdoor purposes in a greenhouse. We propagating plants for indoor and outdoor purposes, organize plant sales on campus as well events around Las Cruces. We also set up workshops with professors to gain expertise on propagation, plant and soil heal, and focus on learning what conditions are suitable for a given species. The club strives to share their learned knowledge through community outreach events and to demonstrate such knowledge by volunteering to implement sustainable landscapes utilizing native species of plants and pollinators for our micro-climates within the region.
Come and join us if you can, we are always looking forward to having new members come by! The Horticulture Forum meets every Thursday from 5:00 to 6:30 off campus at Fabian Garcia Science Center 113 W University Ave for the 2017 fall semester.
