Welcome to the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences!
We hope you will take a few minutes to see what our department has to offer.
We are committed to providing our students with excellent educational experiences that will prepare them to enter the workforce, further their education, and/or engage in community service upon graduation.
We have a dynamic, intellectual faculty and student body working toward improving the quality of individual and family life for all New Mexicans.

Eloisa Mean, dietetic intern and graduate student, prepared a theme meal as part of her hospital foodservice supervised practice rotation at Providence Hospital in El Paso. Stuart Adams, another of our dietetic interns, is also in the photo on the left. He helped her make nutritious smoothies (yogurt, strawberries, blueberries, kale, and ice). Pictured in the photo on the right are Debi Hicks, RD, Eloisa’s preceptor at Providence Hospital and one of our undergraduate dietetics alumnae, and Dr. Wanda Eastman.
