Image of vision

The Department of Fish, Wildlife and Conservation Ecology strives for excellence in research, teaching and outreach in ecology, conservation and management of aquatic and terrestrial resources, with an emphasis in arid ecosystems in the American Southwest and northern Mexico. The major components of this vision include: a) practical field experience and leadership training for students of diverse ethnic, cultural and geographic backgrounds; b) extramurally funded research programs focused on both basic and applied science; and c) technical advice and guidance for resource agencies and the public.
