Dream Makers Summer Program

March 2008

The Indian Resource Development Program (IRD) will be hosting the Dream Makers Summer Program scheduled for
June 8 - June 21, 2008 at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces.

This two-week enrichment program will provide American Indian Middle school students the opportunity of an on-campus residential living experience. Through hands-on activities, classroom participation, presentations, and demonstrations conducted by college professors, students will explore natural resource-related fields in Engineering, Agriculture, Math, Science, and Business.

Students must meet the following criteria:

  1. Student will complete the sixth or seventh grade by June 2008.
  2. Student has a grade point average of 2.0 or better.
  3. Student plans to enroll in a college or university.
  4. Student has an interest in pursuing a natural resource-related career.
  5. Student demonstrates leadership abilities.

Application packets including supporting documents must be submitted by May 9, 2008.
