Pedro R. Ureña

Pedro R. Ureña is a sophomore in the School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management. Born in Los Angeles, California moved to New Mexico because his parents thought it was safer for him and his brothers to live in. He was the first in his family to graduate high school and the first to attend college. Pedro is the oldest of five brothers. He chose to come to NMSU because NMSU was far enough to be away from family but be close enough to be a positive influence on his younger brothers. He chose the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences because it was the one place that had the degree that he was looking for and the people who he talked to were polite and helped him pick out the classes he needed. Pedros' goal once he finishes his degree program here is to go to culinary school and learn enough so he can open his own restaurant one day, then maybe he can have his very own ship to travel the vast ocean.
