New Mexico State University and Universidad de La Salle in Bogata, Columbia were awarded the 2014 "Innovation Fund Grant." The grant was for an exchange program between NMSU faculty and La Salle's Utopia campus faculty and students. The Utopia project is a rural campus designed for students within a region of Colombia negatively affected by the drug industry. Utopia project students received two weeks of agricultural and irrigation trainings from NMSU faculty and a visit to U.S. for a cultural experience and an agricultural knowledge exchange from NMSU's faculty, staff, and project participants.
