The AGGIE DERBY, Raise for the Roses, is a virtual race where community members, 'Jockeys', are partnered with our NMSU Therapeutic Riding horses and are competing to win the AGGIE DERBY. The jockey who raises the most money from April 30th - May 4th will be named the AGGIE DERBY winner. All proceeds are tax deductible and will go directly to the NMSU Therapeutic Riding Program.

The Therapeutic Riding Program consists of equine riding and activities that improve the quality of life for our clients of different ages and abilities by using horsemanship and outdoor experiences to develop strength, confidence, self-worth, and active community participation.

In our fundraising efforts, we hope to raise $20,000 which will fund a 1-year assistantship (scholarship) for a graduate student to help coordinate the program and teach therapeutic riding lessons. This will help to ensure that the program is sustainable and consistent for our clients for years to come.
