This graduate-level course is designed for those interested in technology
integration in a K-12 school environment. Class participants will
-
review technology integration models
-
examine current issues and literature regarding technology integration
-
evaluate teaching practices which improve content learning through the
use of technology
-
identify sound teaching strategies for providing technology training for
teachers
-
review curricular examples of technology integration such as WebQuests,
virtual Jack Daw kits, simulations, and telecollaborative activities for
multiple disciplines
Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to:

Evaluate a proposal for technology integration for a given school/district
based on existing models

Summarize literature regarding a specific issue in K-12 technology integration

Identify methods, resources and strategies for effectively reaching teachers
with technology instruction

Provide examples of effective technology-based lessons for several disciplines,
including science, math, english, social studies, business studies, consumer
science, visual arts, foreign languages, physical education, music.
