The Let's Talk! Livestock Water Nutrition event will be held June 28, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., Southwest Center for Rangeland Sustainability, Corona. Free to attend! Enjoy breakfast here at the ranch while visiting other livestock producers.

Presentations by Drs. Scholljegerdes and Gifford will follow at 9 am to kick off a discussion on livestock water nutrition. Quay County Extension's Brenda Bishop, Family & Consumer Sciences Agent, will be hosting cooking workshops on July 7, 9 to 1 p.m., Quay Extension Office.

This workshop series is open to novice, junior, and senior 4-H members and their guests. Come learn the skills to make delicious food to impress friends and family. There is a special gift for everyone who attends both 101 sessions.

We will be preparing lots of delicious food and an entire meal to eat. Special attention will be given to being a good host and guest. Class size is limited to a minimum of 8 and a max of 12. Jason Lamb, Quay County Extension 4-H/Ag Agent, will be hosting this workshop on July 8, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Quay County Fairgrounds.

The Goat Breeders workshop will cover nutrition, parasites, reproductive technologies, hoof care, and selection. Most of the presenters are veterinarians from out of state and goat breeders. The cost is $10 for lunch and registration. 4-H and FFA members may attend the program free of charge.

Doña Ana County 4-H will be having a Fun Shoot on July 15, 7:30 a.m., Butterfield Shooting Range, Corralitos Exit 127 on I-10, towards Deming - 12 miles west of Las Cruces.

Adult and youth teams are welcome. Lunch will be provided to team participants. Additional meals may be purchased for those individuals not shooting. Prizes will be awarded to Adult and Youth Teams; High Point Adult Male and Female; High Point Novice, Junior and Senior Youth; and a Broken Horn Oryx Hunt at the Armendaris Ranch for the Overall High Point Youth. The FDA, FSMA-HARPC (Hazard Analysis and Risk-based Preventative Control) Training & Certification is being offered in Spanish Aug. 28 - 30, NMSU, Gerald Thomas Hall, Rm. 303, 940 College Drive, Las Cruces, NM. Class will be in Spanish.

This course, developed by the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA), is the "standardized curriculum" recognized by FDA. Successfully completing this course approved by FDA meets the requirement of a "Preventive Controls Qualified Individual" (PCQI). It will provide participants with the knowledge needed to create a Food Safety plan that complies with the Hazard Analysis and Risk-based Preventive Control (HARPC) for Human Food rule.

You will have an opportunity to tour and learn about Extension activities in Lincoln and Chaves counties. Regent Mike Cheney will again be participating in this year's ride. Regent Cheney's vision for the motorcycle tour is to increase awareness of the importance of 4-H youth programs and the Cooperative Extension Service. Anyone who wishes to participate, but is not a motorcycle rider, is certainly welcome.

Food Safety Preventative Controls Alliance Course (Spanish)
The FDA, FSMA-HARPC (Hazard Analysis and Risk-based Preventative Control) Training & Certification is being offered in Spanish Aug. 28 - 30, NMSU, Gerald Thomas Hall, Rm. 303, 940 College Drive, Las Cruces, NM. Class will be in Spanish.

This course, developed by the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA), is the "standardized curriculum" recognized by FDA. Successfully completing this course approved by FDA meets the requirement of a "Preventive Controls Qualified Individual" (PCQI). It will provide participants with the knowledge needed to create a Food Safety plan that complies with the Hazard Analysis and Risk-based Preventive Control (HARPC) for Human Food rule.
