The adventure begins at 10:00 a.m. and will go until noon. This scientific exploration is open to 4th graders and older. This year's challenge, "Drone Discovery", explores the design, operation and purpose of drones in the real world. This is the perfect opportunity to invite your friends to join us on the journey of learning by doing and 4-H!

5-State Beef Conference
The conference will be on October 11 at Clayton Civic Center, 124 N. Front Street in Clayton, NM, and invites cattle producers from New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Colorado, to spend the evening getting up-to-date on the latest issues and other timely topics related to beef production.

Topics will include Range & Pasture Insurance Programs, Market Update, Fetal Programming, Mineral Nutrition and Water Quality. There will also be updates on current research taking place within the respective host states related to applied nutrition and reproduction.

Who doesn't love bubbles in their wine? Sparkling wines are essential to celebrations around the world. But what is the difference between champagne and sparkling wine? Cava and Prosecco? Join us to taste the best of them from around the world.

Both sessions will be presented by Dr. Michael Wray. Michael is a professor of beverages at Metro State University, Denver. A former Army National Guard Lieutenant Colonel, he holds five different wine and wine education certificates and diplomas. He was instrumental in the design and construction of new food and beverage teaching laboratories and the Tivoli Brewing Company on the Metro State campus.

Presentations will be held from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. in the Bobby Lee Lawrence Academy of Wine and cost $15 per person, except as noted. More info...

When you think of wine, food, and culture, you think of France and Spain. Learn about and taste the distinct wines of France, focusing on the Bordeaux region, and Northern Spain

Presented by Professor Mohsen Azizsoltani, MS. Mohsen has taught at University of Nevada, Las Vegas since 1994, including courses in restaurant management, bar management, wines, and beers. He is certified in Bordeaux wine education and was the Director of UNLV, the college's largest scholarship fundraising which evolved into a three-day beverage and food festival, from 1994 - 2015.

New Mexico 4-H Shooting Sports Leader Certification Dates Set, and our next training will be held in Carlsbad, NM on February 17-19, 2017. The policy for maintaining certification, according to our policies and procedures, is as follows:

Maintaining State 4-H Shooting Sports Certification - To maintain certification an instructor/leader must be active two out of three consecutive years. If inactive for two consecutive years, re-certification is required.
