A cooking school for people with diabetes. Free!
  • Learn to plan healthy meals
  • Learn to prepare delicious dishes that manage carbohydrate
  • Learn to reduce fat, sugar, and sodium in cooking without cutting taste.

Classes will be Friday mornings from 9a.m. to noon in the large annex at the Fairgrounds, 3229 Rodeo Rd

In addition to preparing and tasting healthy dishes, class participants will receive a workbook and recipe books.

Fruit tree workshop in Abiquiu
To help commercial growers and home gardeners have the best yield possible, New Mexico State University Cooperative Extension Service and the New Mexico Department of Agriculture marketing division are hosting a fruit workshop Thursday, May 1, at the Rio Arriba County Rural Event Center, State Road 554 House #122-A, Abiquiu. The free event will begin at 9 a.m.

Indian Livestock Days
New Mexico Indian Livestock Days is an annual event held in May, conducted by NMSU Cooperative Extension Service.

The program is designed for Tribal members who raise livestock and is driven by clientele needs and interests - not enough land, not enough feed on the land they have, and not enough water, etc. More info...

Bernalillo County Extension Master Composters Fall 2014 Training
The next Master Composter Training is scheduled for Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings, October 15 to November 8, 2014, at the Bernalillo County Extension Office in Albuquerque. The purpose of the training is to educate people to be expert composters who will then teach others how to compost. It is not necessary to be a resident of Bernalillo County to take the training.
