  • 112-Day Report (PDF)
This report includes: High indexing bulls and sires, top sire groups for WDA, ADG, and feed efficiency; the High Gaining (ADG and WDA) top individual bulls, as well as the 112-day performance for all test bulls.

84-Day Report

What a difference a month can make. Since the last report, the Bull Testing Facility has received 23 inches of snow. While the thaw has been slow throughout northeast NM, we can optimistically hope the moisture will translate into a quicker green-up this spring. The bulls weathered the storms well and are looking great. Through 84-days, the 112 bulls on test are averaging 3.52 pounds of gain per day.

This report includes: a Breed Summary, the High Gaining (ADG and WDA) Sire Groups from each division, top performing individuals from each division, as well as the individual performance of all bulls on test. This report also includes the Pfizer Animal Genetics MVP DNA-marker panel data for all registered bulls scheduled to sell in March as well as information on the New Mexico Gold Calf Marketing Program, which was launched by the Genetic Suppliers of the NMBCPA in September 2009.

56-Day Report

Entering our 49th year, it is a pleasure to provide you with this performance update for the bulls after 56-d on test. This year's test has brought together 115 bulls from 17 seedstock producers originating from diverse production environments in the Southwest. Through 56-d, the 115 bulls on test are averaging 3.39 pounds of gain per day. The depth of quality in the barn is unsurpassed as cooperating ranches have sorted deep and sent only the top-cut, sire groups to this year's program. In my fourth year as the Director of Operations, it is exciting to see the membership of the NM Beef Cattle Performance Association (NMBCPA) strive to become the region's leading seedstock organization focused on addressing the genetic and marketing needs of commercial cattle producers.
