Education in a Social Setting

The Extension Association of New Mexico was formed in 1941, as Extension Homemakers, in cooperation with the Extension Service at New Mexico State University. EANM helps extend adult education throughout New Mexico.

The mission of the Extension Association of New Mexico is to strengthen individuals, families and communities through:

  • Education
  • Leadership
  • Action

EANM Objectives

  • To strengthen, develop, coordinate and extend youth and adult education in home economics, agriculture and related subjects in conjunction with the Cooperative Extension Service at New Mexico State University.
  • To provide an opportunity and means for educators to cooperate in progressive improvement of the family and community.
  • To encourage members to take an interest and to participate in public affairs.
  • To abstain from participation in partisan politics. An individual member may not use the name of EANM or any office help in the EANM to endorse a political candidate.
