Scholarships and Awards

All clubs are encouraged to support the scholarship fund and are urged to donate $5.00 or more each year. Contributions can be sent to the State Treasurer and they will be accepted and credited anytime during the year.

AS FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE, ONE OR MORE SCHOLARSHIPS MAY BE AWARDED. THEY ARE:

  • $1,000 scholarship for an incoming freshman at NMSU majoring in Agriculture or Home Science.

  • $500 scholarship to a former 4-H member at any New Mexico college majoring in Agriculture or Home Science.

  • The Mary Ross Moore $500 Scholarship is for an EANM member returning to college. 4-H leader award in the amount of $500.

Applications are provided by EANM and are available from the state scholarship chairman, the state 4-H office, any Extension Office, or may be downloaded from this site. These applications shall be used by all applicants. Both the applicant and advisor shall fill out the forms regarding scholarship, leadership and service. Four copies of the applications shall be in the hands of the scholarship committee by April 1 of each year.

$1000.00 Scholarship criteria and requirements:

EANM will award this scholarship to a current or former 4-H member. The first $500 will be paid in the fall and the second $500 for the spring semester. One half of the total amount ($1,000) to be provided by the College of Agriculture and Home Economics at NMSU.

Eligibility requirements:
The boy/girl receiving the scholarship shall be a resident of New Mexico and have been actively involved in 4-H for at least five (5) years.

Must be an incoming freshman at NMSU in the fall and must major in Agriculture or Home Sciences.

The applicant must maintain a 3.0 average or higher during the fall semester to receive the remaining scholarship for the spring semester.

Criteria for selection is based on application with:
* 50% 4-H project work or achievement in project
* 25% Leadership
* 25% Community service/citizenship

$500.00 Scholarship criteria and requirements:

The boy/girl receiving the scholarship shall be a resident of New Mexico and have been actively involved in 4-H.

The college shall be limited to one in New Mexico and recipient must be enrolled in Agriculture or Home Sciences.

Scholarships are available to freshman, sophomore, junior or seniors. The applicant must maintain a minimum 3.0 grade point average.

Each scholarship of $500 will be given in the sum of $250 per semester

Application forms stating the applicants qualifications regarding scholarship, leadership and service shall be submitted in quadruplicate (4) by both the applicant and advisor by April 1.

Mary Ross Moore $500 Scholarship:

The applicant shall have been an EANM member for at least the past three (3) years and shall be a resident of New Mexico.

The school or college shall not be limited to one in New Mexico, applicant may enroll in an out of state college if it is closer to her home and may enroll in internet classes or independent study providing the college is an accredited one. A minimum of 6 credit hours shall be taken.

The scholarship amount of $500 is to be paid $250 per term. The second $250 will be paid contingent upon receiving documentation that the first course was successfully completed.

This scholarship shall not be limited as to degree - it may be used for vocational school, a two-year or four-year college, web classes, instructional TV or independent study.

Both the applicant and the advisor shall submit four (4) copies of the applications form stating the applicant's qualifications.

Application forms provided by EANM shall be used by all applicants. Forms may be obtained from the scholarship committee or at the local Extension Office. Applications must be in the hands of the scholarship committee by April 1 of each year.
