The County Emergency Manager, the County Extension Agriculture Agent and Tribal Officials from the following counties should attend:

Santa Fe County

Taos County

Los Alamos County

Rio Arriba County

We would like to have the County Emergency Manager, the County Extension Agriculture Agent and the Tribal Officials in each of these counties to invite and encourage attendance to this training from the following individuals in their county.

A representative(s) from the following are encouraged to attend:

City Police Department

County Sheriff's Office

Tribal Law Enforcement

Fire Departments

State Police (possibly should come from District Office)

New Mexico Department of Health (in each county)

Tribal Health Offices

New Mexico Livestock Inspector(s)

New Mexico Game and Fish

US Fish and Wildlife

County Commissioner(s)

Sale Barn Owner(s)

Feed Lot(s) Owner(s)

Dairy(s) Owner(s)

Food Processing Plants

Banker(s)

Rancher(s)

Farmer(s)/Producer(s)

We will pay mileage for private vehicles and we will provide lunch for the attendees.

The training will be an introductory session of about 6 hours to discuss the need for and the development of an Agricultural Emergency Annex to the County Emergency Operations Plan. We will discuss the emergencies that could occur in each county and the damage they could cause to the Agricultural Industry and to the economy of the county and the state of New Mexico.

This group will meet again about a month later for a day work session to begin writing the Agricultural Emergency Annex for their county.
