Kelly J. Hamilton, MPA

Kelly currently serves as agriculture biosecurity director for the New Mexico Department of Agriculture and co-director of the Southwest Border Food Safety and Defense Center. Born and raised on a ranch in northern Wyoming, Kelly has spent over 25 years in law enforcement and regulatory work at the municipal, county and state levels of government; 12 years of that career was with the State of Wyoming Livestock Board and State Veterinarian's Office leading the enforcement, investigative and regulatory programs for the agency. After the events of September 2001, much of Kelly's work has been dedicated to protection of the agriculture industry and food industry. Kelly is an adjunct lecturer and developer for the National Center for Biomedical Research, Academy of Counterterrorism Education at Louisiana State University and the Center for Agriculture and Food Security and Preparedness at the University of Tennessee.
