Small Farms Institute Professorship

The SFI Professorship was established from the sale of the Bradley Farm. Income from the endowment will be used to provide resources in the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences to a faculty member in the Plant and Environmental Sciences engaged in research and teaching related to sustainable crop production focusing on small farms.

Goals:
Providing education, applied research, outreach & extension to create a sustainable future in the desert Southwest.

Idea: The NMSU Small Farms Institute will be recognized as a uniquely position leader in sustainable practices that provides small-scale farmers and ranchers with programs of excellence.
Idea: An investment in sustainable, small scale farming and ranching throughout the desert Southwest.

MISSION:
Create a corridor of education, applied research & outreach dedicated to ensure the viability and profitability of present and future small-scale farmers and ranchers in communities throughout New Mexico. Idea: Ensuring the viability and profitability of present and future small-scale farmers and ranchers through education, applied research, outreach and extension.
