Sandoval County Extension Office

Sandoval was named for the distinguished family who lived in the region in the 18th century.

Bandelier National Monument, Coronado State Monument, several Indian pueblos, and hunting and fishing in the Jemez Mountains attract many visitors to Sandoval County each year.

The county seat, Bernalillo, has been a thriving community since the late 17th century. Originally named Santa Ana, it was one of the territory's original colonies.
