Bernalillo Community Garden

2012-2013 Fiscal Year Chair: Sam Thompson. This project is just beginning so some details may change so please check back from time to time.

Meeting Location: Sandoval County Extension Office and Community Garden.

Number of Volunteers Needed: At least 3 volunteers will be needed to develop and present classes. 4 volunteers will be helpful for the workdays (the actual number needed may be increased depending upon the number of people growing in the community garden).

Brief Project Description: The Town of Bernalillo has set aside land to develop a community garden. The Sandoval County Master Gardeners will be conducting classes for members of the public who wish to utilize this space to grow vegetables or flowers. In addition, master gardeners will serve as advisors during workdays at the garden.

Main Education/Training Provided: Classes will focus on fundamentals of gardening while the workdays at the garden will be hands-on activities like transplanting, weeding and harvesting.
