1-3 depending on time of year. Talks are presented throughout the year. Typical Meeting Time/Duration: 2-3 hours

Brief Project Description:
Buena Vista Adult Community contains the only permanent, wheelchair accessible gardens in New Mexico. This Senior- oriented garden had its first planting in the spring and summer of 2012, growing both vegetables and flowers. The garden is community and participant driven and is intended for growing plants, therapy, reflection and access to nutritious food. The gardens are available to all seniors in Rio Rancho and Corrales.

Main Education/Training Tasks:

  • Assist residents with planting and maintaining gardens
  • Act as a resource for gardening questions
  • Provide technical advice as needed
  • Present talks on a variety of gardening topics
