RRPS Student Research Expo
It's time to mark your calendar for this year's RRPS Student Research Expo. Judging of the Rio Rancho Public Schools 2011 Student Research Expo will be held on Thursday, January 20th, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. until noon at Rio Rancho High School. Both a continental breakfast and lunch will be served to all judges.
This year, freshmen through seniors will be entering projects in the Expo. This is the first step in their journey to compete against the world. The students need you! The goal is to have 100 judges that will interview and validate the hard work of the participants. If you've judged the Research EXPO in the past, thank you! RRPS hopes you will be able to judge again. If you've never judged the Research EXPO before, RRPS would like to sincerely invite you to participate.
Ann Villasenor, the Expo Judge Recruiter, is asking for SCMG's help in judging and finding judges to help on that day. Please respond if you are willing to judge or you know of anyone who is willing to judge.
Judging occurs in the following 9 categories. If you are willing to judge, please indicate your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd preferences for the categories you would like to judge when you volunteer -- RRPS does not want to assign you a category that you are not comfortable with.
- Behavior and Social Sciences
- Biology and BioChemistry
- Energy and Transportation
- Environmental and Earth Sciences
- Mathematics and Computer Science
- Medical and Health
Many students are already working diligently on preparing their projects. More than 50 teachers are helping their students be in the research expo. RRPS has ambitious goals regarding students and research. Everyone is working hard to meet these goals. Please help out if you can judge, or refer someone who is willing to judge.
Your help is greatly appreciated. This is a very fun activity and the projects are amazing! If you can volunteer, please contact Martha Mann.
