DeLavy House

Sandoval County Historical Society Garden

Cleanup Scheduled for Wednesday, October 6, 2010

We will be back for the regular first Wednesday of the month DeLavy House gardening. The plans for that day will be routine fall clean up. I hope! So rakes, trimmers and patience will be needed. Any Questions call Charlotte Wilson or James Wilson.

Beginning Wednesday March 4, 2009 the Sandoval County Master Gardeners were invited to maintain the Sandoval County Historical Society Gardens.

The DeLavy house was the home of a prominent New Mexico artist, Edmund DeLavy and is now the home of Sandoval County Historical Society.

This Master Gardner project is to maintain a small xeric garden, a small memorial garden and weed control in the parking area. We are currently meeting on the first Wednesday of the month at 8 a.m. in the summer and as announced in the colder months. At these meetings we check and repair irrigation systems, prune when necessary, weed, plant donated plants, dead-head and perform general garden upkeep. We have had this project since March 2009 and the results are remarkable! The grounds look loved and well tended.

The DeLavy house is located at 151 Edmund Road, Bernalillo, NM 87004, a little dirt road north off of Highway 550 between IHOP and Warrior gas station. Come join us, get a little dirty, have great conversations and enjoy this magnificent view!
