Become a Sandoval County Extension Master Gardener Volunteer

The Sandoval County Extension Service and Master Gardeners provide training classes once every year from January to April on Tuesdays from 1:00 p.m.to 5:00 p.m. Intern Trainees attending this 14-week training session and participating in additional volunteer hours before September 30 receive their first year certificate and name badge in the fall of the same year.

View a sampling of SCMG projects available for volunteer hours. Volunteering can include attending conferences, seminars, festivals, grower's markets, fairs and gardening demonstrations.

Be sure to read the Application Letter (to be posted in late August) so that you understand the Program Requirements before applying.

Application for Sandoval County Extension Master Gardener Program

Applications are accepted August through December 1st each year. If the class fills before we receive your application, you will be placed on a waiting list.

You may mail the application or drop it by the Extension Office, located in the Sandoval Courthouse in Bernalillo, New Mexico, 711 S. Camino del Pueblo (across from Allsups). The offices are located on the first floor through the double doors.
