Key Word Search

Use grants.govto practice performing key word searches. (Visiting this site is also the quickest way to conduct a federal funding search.) Key words are used by funding agencies to categorized the intended use of available funds.

After logging into grants.gov click on ‘Find Open Grant Opportunities.’ Type in your search terms in the Keyword Search field. Sample keywords are listed below if you have trouble identifying the most important terms in your project. Your search should produce a list of federal grant opportunities that contain your keyword(s). Simply click each one to read the announcement and determine whether it fits your specific funding needs.
