Adobe Flash Game Design Workshop
The Adobe Flash Game Design Workshop was created in order to teach high school students the basic concepts involved in programming games in Actionscript 3.0 in Adobe Flash. We have just completed the first workshop, and are currently evaluating the results. The workshop lasted for three months, meeting twice a week for 2 hours, and students who completed the program were able to create their own basic games. The handouts and demonstration files we used are available here.
The demonstration files had all the visual assets necessary, but lacked the programming to be operational. These allowed us to spend our time focusing on programming, and not drawing or asset creation.
These are the completed and operational versions
