LAS CRUCES -- Jennifer Prichard of Las Cruces began work last month as a program coordinator for New Mexico State University's Rural Economic Development Through Tourism (REDTT) project.

Prichard provides technical assistance with event planning and tourism activities to rural community leaders in New Mexico. She serves as an advisory member on three county tourism councils in the state -- Doña Ana, Eddy and Lea.

Since August 1995, Prichard worked for REDTT as a technical assistant and a research specialist. She developed countywide and regional tours to enhance rural tourism activities.

Prichard also has experience as an archaeologist with Human Research Systems of Las Cruces and as a student training coordinator for NMSU's Computing and Networking Technology Organization.

From NMSU, she has a bachelor's degree in anthropology and a master's degree in tourism with a minor in educational management and development.

"My experience with anthropology taught me to look at the whole picture and to see how to bring the pieces of a project together," she says.

Prichard plays the bassoon with the Las Cruces Community Band. She also enjoys reading and gardening.
