LAS CRUCES -- Pistachio growers will meet for a day-long workshop April 18 at the Otero County Extension office at the Otero County Fairgrounds.

The workshop will focus on ideas and methods to benefit growers' orchard management practices throughout the year.

A growers' panel about pistachio orchard cultural practices will be moderated by Esteban Herrera, horticulture specialist with New Mexico State University's Cooperative Extension Service. The New Mexico Pistachio Growers' Association will conduct a general meeting during the workshop.

In the afternoon, a field trip is scheduled to the pistachio orchards in Tularosa.

Registration will start at 8 a.m. For more information, contact the Otero County Extension office at (505) 437-0231, or Herrera at (505) 646-2921.
