Knight Hired as New 4-H Home Economist in Bernalillo County

LAS CRUCES - Kelly Knight began work July 1 as the new 4-H home economist with New Mexico State University's Cooperative Extension Service in Bernalillo County.

Knight will promote 4-H home economics programs among youth and 4-H leaders in the county.

"Bernalillo has a well-established 4-H program, so my main focus will be on getting 4-Hers more involved in home economics projects," she said.

Knight is a 1994 graduate of Las Cruces High School. She earned a bachelor's degree from NMSU in family and consumer sciences in 1998.

While at NMSU, she was on the dean's list for three semesters. She served as a student intern in the Otero County Extension office during summer 1997. She also worked as a student office assistant and a student clerical aide.

Knight is pursuing a master's degree in agricultural and extension education from NMSU. She is a member of the Association of Family and Consumer Sciences.
