Top Hand Awards
Daily Top Hand & Runner Up
A Top Hand on any operation is a vital spoke that makes a strong wheel for any successful ranching operation. Each day at NM Youth Ranch Management Camp, committee members and presenters recognized an individual camp participant who demonstrated the key traits of a Top Hand: respectful to others and surroundings, hardworking, and attentive to details and discussion. Top Hands were awarded custom buckles from Maynard Buckles in Thoreau, New Mexico.
Top Hands were Cooper Autrey, Torrance County (Beef); Harrison James, Taos County (Marketing); Clara Maxam, Sandoval County (Natural Resources & Wildlife); Austin Beard, Eddy County (Range).
Committee members also awarded Honorable Mention to Maeve Brown of Floyd, Michael Purdy of San Juan, Hayden Randall of Taos, and Wyatt Bishop of Tucumcari. Award recipients received an engraved knife from Moore Maker, Inc.
