This large deciduous tree enjoys full sunlight and grows to be around 50 feet tall. This tree uses a minimum amount of water. This is a particularly beautiful tree with purple colored flowers in the spring. The leaves are small and cast an interesting, mosaic shadow. While this tree does not make a good shade tree, it's aesthetically appealing and makes for interesting color and texture in landscaping. The Purple Robe is used a great deal in commercial settings.
