New Mexico Distribution Map
Common name: Arroyo Grasshopper.

Size: 18-33 mm.

General distribution: W. Texas to S. Arizona, S. to Sinaloa, Mexico.

Distribution in New Mexico: Bernalillo, Catron, Grant, Hidalgo, Los Alamos, Rio Arriba, Sandoval, Sierra, Socorro, Taos, Valencia.

Habitat: Riparian; gravelly areas

Host: Forbs, algae.

Adults Present: July-November.

Notes: Very common band wing with distinct bands on tegmina; lacking bands on hind wing; basal area of hind wings pinkish; hind legs proximally white, followed by narrow black band; distal half red-orange. No crepitation. Not economically important.
