Melanoplus franciscanus (Scudder)

Size: 20-32 mm.

General distribution: High elevations in Arizona and New Mexico.

Distribution in New Mexico: Catron, Grant, Lincoln, Sierra.

Habitat: Mountains.

Host: Grasses.

Adults Present: July-September.

Notes: Male cerci narrowed at middle; hind femora banded; hind tibiae red; tegmina short. Not economically important.
