Size: 23-36 mm.

General distribution: Colorado, S. to Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and N. Mexico.

Distribution in New Mexico: Bernalillo, Dona Ana, Hidalgo, Luna, Rio Arriba, Roosevelt, San Juan, Socorro, Torrance, Valencia.

Habitat: Adobe flats, desert, shale hills.

Host: Unknown.

Adults Present: July-September.

Notes: Similar to M. plattei, but paler and lacks black band between eye and frontal ridge; basal area of hind wing red or orange; hind tibiae blue. Not economically important.
