Size: 30-57 mm.
General distribution: Central and SE United States, W. to Arizona, S. to central Mexico.
Distribution in New Mexico: Curry, Guadalupe, San Miguel, Torrance, Union, Valencia.
Host: Panicum and other tall grasses.
Adults Present: July-November.
Notes: Very similar to M. bivittata, differs in having pronotal disk bordered by distinct lateral carinae cut by two sulci (in M. bivittata the disk rounds gradually onto lateral lobes; edge of disk cut by three sulci). Not economically important.
