Size: 15-25 mm.

General distribution: S. Canada and NE United States; S. and W. to Montana, New Mexico, and Texas.

Distribution in New Mexico: Colfax, Dona Ana, Mora, San Miguel, Union.

Habitat: Mostly swales in grasslands.

Host: Unknown.

Adults Present: May-December.

Notes: Very similar to O. pelidna, but with only one sulcus cutting lateral pronotal carinae and pattern either somewhat broken or relatively uniform, not appearing as contrasting bands; hind tibiae brown. Not economically important.
