Tomonotus ferruginosus (Bruner)

Common name: Oak Leaf Grasshopper.

Size: 25-40 mm.

General distribution: SE Arizona, S. to Durango, Mexico.

Distribution in New Mexico: No records, but should be found in Hidalgo.

Habitat: Oak zone.

Host: Unknown.

Adults Present: April-August.

Notes: Similar to Arphia, but brown with black-banded orange hind wings. Hind tibiae blue. Not economically important.
