Size: 23-45 mm.

General distribution: Nebraska and Texas, NW to California and Oregon.

Distribution in New Mexico: Bernalillo, Chaves, Cibola, Eddy, Otero, Roosevelt, Sandoval, Torrance.

Habitat: Salt flats and alkali river bottoms, seeps, etc. Prefers white-crusted habitats.

Host: Nearly always associated with salt grasses.

Adults Present: July-September.

Notes: Very similar to T. pallidipennis, but paler, without distinct crossbands on tegmina; band on hind wings variable. Not economically important.
