  • Graduated from Winona State University, Winona, Minnesota
  • Received a Master of Science in Biology at the University of North Dakota
  • Gill has been a Science Teacher, Peace Corps Volunteer, MT Dept. Of Agriculture Pesticide Specialist, Rancher, farm producer of alfalfa seeds in Montana, and has conducted several biological surveys for Threatened and Endangered species including NEPA throughout the SW.
  • Wildlife Manager at McConnell AFB, Wichita KS. Alfalfa seed production in the Southwest, NM, AZ, and TX.
  • Elected to the City Council of Las Cruces in 2009 to present
  • Mayor Pro Tem for 2 years.

Speaker Focus

Las Cruces has been working on sustainability since 2008, with the assigning of the Sustainability office and hiring a Sustainability Officer. We are committed to lowering GHG emissions to 80% by 2050 with all electric production renewable, transportation, efficiencies of electricity in facilities, natural gas use reductions, and others. Our efforts include, energy efficiency, renewable energy production, water use, recycling trash, fleet electrification, and local food use, and relevant regulations.
