New Mexico Master Gardeners

Our Master Gardener programs along with this website are presently under revision. Your patience with this process is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

The fall equinox brings a rush of activity to the landscapes of NM. Master Gardeners throughout the state are harvesting produce from their gardens and enjoying that second flush of perennials. The roses, chamisa, and tree leaves provide a colorful display from top to bottom of the state. We experienced late summer rains in most regions of New Mexico, bringing a lovely reprieve from the heat of the summer months. The smell of fall is on the air as the tips of random tree leaves show a tinge of yellow, rust and red, especially in the northern mountains. The other smell is the one of roasting green chile. The County Fairs and State Fair long over, the International Balloon Fiesta explodes in Bernalillo and surrounding counties. Summer/Fall Master Gardener Programs are well into their class sessions and the bi-annual Statewide Master Gardener Conference sponsored by the Santa Fe Extension Master Gardeners was a huge success.

Are you interested in plants and gardening? Are you a life-long learner? Do you love to share what you're learning with others? The New Mexico Master Gardener Program has a place for you.
