Family Wellness Classes
The NMSU's Strengthening Families Initiative is initiating Family Wellness Program class series throughout Doña Ana County.

Class series will take place at community settings such as schools, churches, and community centers starting in January 2014. We invite you to create fun family memories while learning practical skills and strengthening your family.

Topics range from:

  • parents as leaders and models,
  • dealing with change,
  • communication,
  • family dynamics,
  • signs of healthy/unhealthy relationships,
  • commitment,
  • conflict resolution and much more.

All classes are provided with a light meal, a children's program, and are available in English or Spanish, for more information and to sign up call (575) 646-4360.

Pesticide Management Workshop
The Presticide management workshop will be held April 16 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at ENMU-Ruidoso 709 Mechem Dr. Ruidoso, NM Rm. 119 and will cover managing feral hogs, pests in ornamental's, turf, and rangelands, management strategies for vegetables in NM and managing rangelands (brush control, etc.)

HRTM International Dinner - French Cuisine
NMSU's school of HRTM will present a "French Cuisine" dinner on Thursday, April 24th as a part of their International Dinner Series.

Dinners being at 6:30 pm and will take place in 100 West Café, west end of Gerald Thomas Hall. Wine tasting will be included with each dinner from 6-6:30 pm.

Cost of dinner will be $62.50 per person.

Please come in person to Gerald Thomas Hall Rm. 138 Friday, Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 2 pm to purchase your ticket(s).

Payment must be made the day dinner tickets are purchased. There are no refunds and cancellations must be made no later than the Monday the week of the dinner event.

Home Composting Basics in Silver City
A Home composting class sponsored by Bernalillo County Extension Master Composters will be held May 17 from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon at The Volunteer Center of Grant County, 501 East 13th Street, Silver City, NM.
