Technical Large Animal Emergency Rescue Training
This two day workshop will feature practical considerations, behavioral understanding, specialty equipment, techniques, methodologies and tactics behind the safe extrication of a live large animal from entrapment's such as trailer wrecks, ditches, mud and barn fires in local emergencies and disaster areas.

The workshop is free and those interested must register at preparingnewmexico.org by March 30 since limited spaces are available. More info...

Healthy Cuisine Cooking Class - One Dish Meals
The Healthy Cuisine Cooking Class is a hands on healthy cooking program with an emphasis on lowering sugar, salt & fat.

The Class will be help at Peralta Methodist Church (25 Wesley RD/Peralta, NM) from 9 a.m. to noon. Pre-registration is required. Please register by April 23 by calling the Valencia County Cooperative Extension Service office at (505) 565-3002.

A $10 participation fee covers recipe book, cost of supplies, and lunch. More info...

SWCRS Beyond the Roundtable: Solar Water Pumping & Off-Grid Lighting
This event will require prior registration (free of charge) and it is limited to the first 45 to register. The 1st session of a six part Symposium Series hosted at the Southwest Center for Rangeland Sustainability.

This will be an excellent session with great information presented on the basics of solar energy, solar water pumping, off-grid lighting, and tools available through the NMSU Engineering NM Resources Network and the Cooperative Extension Service. Symposiums to follow will be on Animal Health, Brush and Weed Control, Ruminant Nutrition in two parts and Range Management. More info...

Free Meadowlake Summer Day Camp
This summer day camp focuses on building knowledge, self-esteem and creativity through hands on activities and interactions.

The Free day camp is designed for children and youth ages 4 through 17 and will be held at the Meadowlake Community Center, 10 Cuerro Lane, Meadowlake, NM, from 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. each day.
