The Quay CES Debt Elimination Program, presented by Brenda Bishop, Family and Consumer Sciences Agent, will be held June 26, Quay County Extension Office, 216 E. Center Street, Tucumcari.

Two sessions will be offered:
  • 12:10 to 12:50 p.m. - "Lunch & Learn" - Bring your lunch and watch the presentation as you eat. Beverages will be available.

Quay County Extension FCS Agent, Brenda Bishop, will be holding Food Handler Training, June 27, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., Logan Public School.

If you are volunteering where food is being served to the public, whether paid for or not, it makes sense that those preparing the food have some food safety training. After all, a case of food borne illness would not be good for your organization. Having trained people may reduce your liability.

Cost of the class is $17 with a book or $12 without a book. There will be a $2 discount for members of the Extension Assoc. This course, developed by the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA), is the "standardized curriculum" recognized by FDA. Successfully completing this course approved by FDA meets the requirement of a "Preventive Controls Qualified Individual" (PCQI). It will provide participants with the knowledge needed to create a Food Safety plan that complies with the Hazard Analysis and Risk-based Preventive Control (HARPC) for Human Food rule.
