AES Field Day | Clovis Science Center

The Tucumcari field day begins with registration at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6. Lowell Catlett, dean emeritus of NMSU’s College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences, will be the pre-dinner speaker. Following the free dinner catered by the Tumbleweed 4-H Club, attendees can take a hay wagon tour of some of the center’s research projects and the evening concludes with an ice cream social.

Presentations at Tucumcari’s field day include topics such as innovative technology for beef cattle feed efficiency testing; tillage and nitrogen effects on silage corn; manure applications in strip tillage systems; tepary beans for grain and forage; perennial cereal rye for forage; and glandless cotton.

The following day, the Clovis NMSU Agricultural Science Center Field Day begins with registration at 8 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7. The field tour begins at 9 a.m. with a catered lunch to follow the tour. More info...

AES Field Day / Clovis
The Clovis Agricultural Science Center Annual Field Day is scheduled for Friday, August 7th, 2015. Registration will begin at 8:00 am and the field tour will start at 9:00 am. A catered lunch will be served after the tour.

The purpose of this event is to bring farmers, dairy producers, industry people, extension educators, and the NMSU researchers together to visit and interact with each other, share ideas and opinions about different cultural practices. Also the producers will have a chance to ask questions and get answers one-on-one. "Seeing is believing" is another purpose of the field day, during which everybody will have the opportunity to visit the ongoing research plots and see first-hand what works and what doesn't.

This two part class is designed for the novice home canner or someone looking for a refresher.

Part 1 will be help on Monday, August 10 from 1-2 p.m. at the Mesa Public Library, 2400 Central Ave.

Part 2 will be held Wednesday, August 12 from 1-4 p.m. in the United Church, 2525 Canyon Rd., Suite A.

Learn the most up to date information about pressure canning. The workshop will include hands-on practice using canning equipment.

    If you have diabetes, making healthy meals can be a real challenge. Kitchen Creations can help!

    Join us October 15, 22, 29 and November 5, from 9 - 12 p.m. at the Peralta Memorial United Methodist Church, 25 Wesley Rd., Peralta, for this FREE 4 session class. Participants will learn how to plan and prepare delicious dishes that manage carbohydrates and promote heart health.

    10th Annual Fall Farm Festival
    Bring your family to the 10th Annual Fall Farm Festival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Los Lunas Agriculture Science Center, 1036 Miller Street, Los Lunas. The Valencia County Cooperative Extension Service is hosting this event as a fundraiser for the Valencia County 4-H Program.

    Admission is $5.00 for everyone 4 years old and older. Kids 3 years old and under are free. Price includes face painting, petting zoo, corn maze, and wagon ride, a pumpkin to pick and take home, and many other fun games and educational booths.

    The Agricultural Science Center at Tucumcari will hold its annual field day on the evening of August 6th.

    Dean Catlett will make a presentation immediately before the catered dinner. After dinner a hay wagon tour will take place during which presentations will be made about ongoing research programs and other topics of interest. More info...

    AES Field Day | Clovis Science Center

    The Tucumcari field day begins with registration at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6. Lowell Catlett, dean emeritus of NMSU’s College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences, will be the pre-dinner speaker. Following the free dinner catered by the Tumbleweed 4-H Club, attendees can take a hay wagon tour of some of the center’s research projects and the evening concludes with an ice cream social.

    Presentations at Tucumcari’s field day include topics such as innovative technology for beef cattle feed efficiency testing; tillage and nitrogen effects on silage corn; manure applications in strip tillage systems; tepary beans for grain and forage; perennial cereal rye for forage; and glandless cotton.

    The following day, the Clovis NMSU Agricultural Science Center Field Day begins with registration at 8 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7. The field tour begins at 9 a.m. with a catered lunch to follow the tour. More info...
