The NM Sustainable Agriculture Conference, a single day conference, sponsored by the WSARE that aims to promote new and time-tested methods of agriculture that preserve our land and water while improving the lives of farmers and the community. The focus of this year's conference will be on sustainable pest and disease management and technologies to improve agriculture infrastructure. The conference is free and lunch will be provided.

Las Cruces Tree Stewards Training

The Las Cruces Tree Stewards Training will be held Wednesdays, Nov. 20, 8 a.m. to Noon, Frank O'Brien Papen Center, 304 Bell Avenue. Program began Oct. 2.

Training consists of 32 hours and the class is limited to the first 20 applicants. Classes are taught by experienced community professionals, including NMSU Extension faculty member, Marissa Thompson. In exchange for the training, volunteers are asked to commit 40 hours of volunteer service over the next 12 months planting or caring for trees in public spaces or aiding in educational efforts about trees.
